  For our next Filmbase Session we will be talking to Standby Art Director Sam Cook.

  This session is for anyone interested in the Standby role and what it's like working on set every day with some of the biggest names in the industry.

  Sam has recently finished a Major Motion Picture directed by JJ Abrams for Warner Brothers.

  He has many other Standby credits to his name, including for the latest Sonic the Hedgehog film and Back in Action starring Cameron Diaz and Jamie Foxx. We're excited to talk to Sam and hear about his experiences working at the highest level.

  Sam has also worked in TV and, unusually for a Standby, he started his career in Prop Dressing.

  We'll talk about his route into the industry, plus what advice he has for others starting out now. 

  The Standby is a crucial link between the whole Art Department and what happens on set, so their working day is largely on their feet, interacting with the myriad on-set crew including the director and actors.

  This is an opportunity to hear from a hugely experienced Standby Art Director about what this role involves in film and in TV.
