FILMBASE SESSIONS

How to be sustainable in film and TV

A discussion with Amelia Price from Sustainable Film

led by

Sophie Hervieu, Set Decorator

Friday 12th July 2024

1.15pm - 1.45pm UK time via Zoom

There's a common quest to be more sustainable at the moment, but on a fast paced job, with tight budgets and timelines, it's sometimes hard to know what 'being more sustainable' can actually look like.

We know about recycling, reusing or reselling props, buying from ethical and sustainable sources, but what else can we do? And how can productions be encouraged to focus on some of these aspects when budgets are tight? And did you know that 'sustainability' can also mean a focus on crew members and their personal sustainability and wellbeing?

In this session, Sophie Hervieu, (Set Decorator) will be talking to Amelia Price, Co-Founder of Sustainable Film about the three pillars of sustainability - People, Planet & Profit.

Sustainable Film combines their environmental expertise with years of working in production to offer support to locations, studios and suppliers who are looking to develop and enhance their sustainability strategies. They aim to balance environmental goals with boosting efficiency and prosperity.

We all want to be more sustainable but knowing how to implement this on production isn't always easy. Join us for this Filmbase session to learn more about implementing sustainability on productions.

Sign up for the session below. The webinar is included in your membership if you are a Filmbase members and is £10 for non-members. If you'd like to become a Filmbase member, click here
