We've had a strange few years in this industry, with patches of frantic activity when there weren't enough crew members to go around, to tumbleweed, both through Covid, and now during the strikes. We know that it's really tough being a freelancer in these times. You can go from being at the centre of a busy team, with purpose and direction, to wondering when the phone will ring again and how you're going to pay the bills. The freelance lifestyle is always difficult, but the strikes have left a lot of people reeling from the sudden halt to their career and income.
So, for our next Filmbase session, we will be joined by Kas Fielding, who has worked in the Set Decoration department and is a trained Integrative Counsellor & Psychotherapist. We'll be discussing with Kas how to cope in these uncertain times, what you can do to support your mental health and what options there are in terms of therapy and counselling. It's sometimes a bit overwhelming when you look at a list of different therapies, from Jungian to CBT, and we'll be asking Kas for her advice on all of this.
