from Talking Point
Thursday 27th July
13:15 - 13:45 (BST) via Zoom
This is a historic moment for film and TV crew, with the first double strike in 60 years. Currently both SAG-AFTRA members (actors) and WGA members (writers) are striking. These are the American unions, representing US crew. UK actors and writers are represented by the UK unions, Equity and Bectu, who are not striking. However, there will be some UK actors and writers who are members of both the UK and US unions and therefore may be required to strike.
So, why are the unions striking? We'll be talking with Helen Johnson from Talking Point about the reasons behind the strikes, how it is effecting UK productions, and of course the question everyone is asking, but unfortunately no one has the answer to...how long is it going to go on for?
Sign up for the first session below. If you have any questions about the strike, you can submit them when you register.
The webinar is FREE for everyone. If you'd like to become a Filmbase member, click here.
